The Challenge.

Client is University of Maryland, College Park. UMD runs a Together Program under the Department of Family Science. Together Team had a very basic website built on wix, which was not engaging and communicating the right message to their audience. They wanted to build a website on WordPress, which has a new look, mobile responsive and SEO optimized. They reached out to Simpalm, and Simpalm took the challenge of redesigning their website.

The Solution.

We started the project with capturing the website requirement, and they created the user flow of the websites using Figma design. Client was impressed with the clickable wireframes with details on the website. Once the client approved the wireframes, we took the client’s banding guidelines and designed the visual UI of the website.

We built the website in WordPress, we implemented the SEO yoast plugin in the website. SEO plugin allowed clients to optimize the pages for search engine optimization. We also integrated with Eventbrite to pull the events from the client’s eventbrite account. Once the website was fully done, it was deployed in the AWS environment.

Design for Specific Need.

Audience of the websites are couples who are going through issues in the family. We designed the website knowing that users are in stress. Design was kept calming and soothing. We also made the website mobile responsive. Most important pages were linked in the navigation.

Make website multilingual and 508 Compliant.

  • Website is supported for English and Spanish language.
  • We added custom Spanish script in the website.
  • We also made website 508 compliant.

Integrate with Eventbrite to show workshop.

We integrated the website with the client’s Eventbrite account so that we could pull the upcoming events and display them on the website. It made it easier for visitors to see all the information at one place.
