Client.

Kids After Hours (KAH) is one of the biggest after school care providers in Maryland. KAH provides summer camps and school-year programs to thousands of families across Maryland. They operate in locations throughout Montgomery and Carroll counties, offering activities that range from science and skate camps to drop-in childcare before and after school.

The Challenge.

The client wanted to create a new version of their website with a cleaner, more appealing design. They wanted their site to be user-friendly and to feature a fun, colorful aesthetic which would communicate their values as a family-run and child-friendly program. From a functional standpoint, they aimed to provide information about Kids After Hours and introduce parents to their many offerings.

The Solution.

Simpalm worked with the client to overhaul their website, using both client-provided and newly created designs. The result was a professional, user-friendly site built on WordPress, which presents the services provided by Kids After Hours in an appealing way.

The home page introduces visitors to Kids After Hours and provides links to each section of the website. By selecting School Programs, Summer Camps, or Red Barn Ranch programs, families can learn more about the activities most relevant to them.

About Us.

Users can navigate to the About Us page to learn more about Kids After Hours. In addition to describing KAH’s history and core values, this page uses a rotating gallery of images to showcase KAH’s school programs.

School Year Programs.

The School Year Program page provides information on Kids After Hours’ school year care programs. An embedded video shows more of what KAH is about, while galleries of images and activities provide parents with a sample of KAH’s school year offerings. Links on a toolbar to the left of the page lead to subpages which provide a more detailed description of locations, scheduling, and the programs available.

Case Studies.

Users can navigate to the Case Studies page to learn about case studies that greenthreads has conducted with various departments across the US. Each case study is detailed with the context, challenge, solution, result, and benefit from greenthreads.

Red Barn Ranch.

The Red Barn Ranch page has information related to KAH’s ranch location, including a photo gallery which gives families a look at what Red Barn Ranch programs are about and links to subpages which provide further information on each of the programs located there, which include seasonal offerings, before and after care, summer camps, and private events.
